One, Between
A film photograph of the intersections of Routes 6 and 26 in Meshoppen, Pennsylvania in February of 1987. The sky is vague and indistinct; the trees are bare, the film grain blurring the thin branches. A roadway crosses the bottom of the frame; two smaller roads curve away, one flat and level heading off into town, the other curving away to climb a wooded hill. Two dated looking cars are pulling out onto the highway. In between the two roads a sits a narrow, blocky building with a seemingly inaccessible second story porch and entryway. The wall above the short porch roof is white, and bears the handpainted block letters
